Details of Ayaz Amir
Ayaz Amir is a renowned Pakistani journalist, and is a newly elected Member of National assembly in Pakistan''s Parliament.

He is most famous for his columns in the newspaper Dawn. He is also known as a politician. His columns are critical of the Pakistan army''s role in politics throughout the history of the country. He is considered to be liberal, arguing passionately the case for rule of law, democracy, and an end to failed military rule along with extremist versions of Islam. In recent years he has written some controversial stories about the 1965 war with India. His articles are humorous yet spot-on, capturing the essence of scandals in the brewing. He has recently joined the newspaper, The News International, which is owned by Jang Group of Newspapers, another national English daily widely circulated.

He also hosts a talk show "Counter Point" on ARY One World television. He is known for his political satire.

In parliamentary elections, held on February 18th, 2008, ayaz amir won a seat in the National assembly contesting from Chakwal (Punjab province), representing the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz)or PML-N.

Ayaz amir was a captain in Pakistan army who resigned/released his commission. He remained an MPA in the Punjab assembly representing Chakwal.

Who are we,what is our National identity and culture? (Part 2)
Friday, January 23, 2009 10:56:05 AM guru Morristown, United States
Culture and language are rooted in the soil, water, air and flora-fauna of the land. It's rooted in the history of the people. Trying to plant artificial, alien and darbari culture for exploitation and subjugation and watered by supposedly spiritual Zum-Zum water creates \r\n\r\n1. drunkard Rangila Yahyas, \r\n\r\n2. corrupt butcher of 3 Million innocents and rapist of 400000 of helpless women Paan exporting coward Generals in East Pakistan\r\n\r\n3. and today the utterly dehumanized terrorist beast such as Ajmal Kasab.\r\n\r\nPakistan will have shallow culture until it starts owning its Saraswati and Sindhu roots, until it starts owning its Taxila universities, until it starts owning its ancient sages and wise such as Panini, Patanjali, Gorakhnaths and innumerous sages. It should shed the darbari imposed culture of last 600 years. Be proud of the fact that shri Raam was a Punjabi.
Thursday, January 22, 2009 10:52:12 PM Allama Ibne Khaldun Lahore, Pakistan
Please have some courage and tell the people that Urdu was a bad choice. The roots of Bangladesh are in Urdu.
Thursday, January 22, 2009 10:28:36 PM Allama Ibne Khaldun Lahore, Pakistan
Urdu will NEVER have any literature of consequence because the Urdu speakers will set their eyes forward to English, German, French and Russian. They are a very MATERIALIST people. Altaf Bhai is himself now a British citizen. Muhajir always keep on migrating, from India to Pakistan and there to their Mecca which is the WEST. After getting free education at the expense of the state, many of them have migrated to the west never satisfied with Pakistan. We are proud of a few like Dr Khan who came back. But they also take a lot and refuse to live and share with the poor people. How much wealth should a man hoard ? Musharraf has 9 plots and only two kids.\r\n\r\nThe issue of language is very important. The earliest level of competition is at the level of linguistic eloquence. The children whose mother tongue is Urdu are invariably more eloquent. This is unfair to Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi, Pathan and Bengali.
Thursday, January 22, 2009 5:31:34 PM Allama Ibne Khaldun Lahore, Pakistan
Every country determines its culture at the point of its inception. The culture will be dependent on the mode of its expression, i.e. the language of the people. When URDU was decided by the Urda population of Mohajirs, East Punjabi and MQM in unfairness to the Bengalis and Punjabis were used as patsies. Since we have defined URDU, thus Indian media of Hindus will make inroads INEVITABLY. Urdas themselves have caused us to be seiged. Had we adopted Arabic, we would have been more related to middle eastern arts and also to Iran.

Bulle shah should come before Shakes spare. We have many great sufis in the past we need to learn about, together with islamic history. Such as fall of the Ottoman empire, we can learn about turkish rasism and arabs nationalism together it made it possible to make Israel in the heart of Muslim land. British and france made Muslims fight each other and thats how we lost Ottoman Empire.

U r scholar but why u r supporting this culture.
Wednesday, January 21, 2009 7:49:58 PM Allama Ibne Khaldun Lahore, Pakistan
Zaid Hamid has recently coined an interesting term: Hindu-Zionists. Its an appropriate term. We can also talk of Muslim-Zionists. Iranian president Ahmadinejad gives the best definition of the word Zionist:- A power party or group which seeks power and glory. Iranian president Moshe Katsa, a jew of iranian origin raped upto 13 Kosher Israeli jewish women himself. This is the character of zionists - Zur, Zun and Zameen. This is what they want by ANY means evil or not, whether, jew hindu or muslim.\r\nWho are muslim zionists ? Muawiya, Yazeed, and so on. They are the ones who demolished the IMAMAT of Hazrat Ali. They dont do Jihad of NAFS. They dont purify themselves. They dont enjoin truth. As for culture and literature, the BEST LITERATURE IN EXISTENCE IS NAHJ-UL-BALAGHA. The only muslim people to stand up to the zionists are Hezbollah of Lebanon living in a multicultural and liberal society of temptations yet sacrificing. Something to reflect.
