Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry (born 12 December 1948), was the 20th Chief Justice of Pakistan and the current de jure Chief Justice of Pakistan since November 03, 2007. He was appointed as Chief Justice by Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf on May 7, 2005. He was suspended by President General Musharraf on March 9, 2007, on corruption charges but was reinstated on technical grounds by order of the Supreme Court on July 20, 2007.
After having been successfully elected as President for second term, Musharraf pre-empted an impending court decision against his re-election and suspended the constitution and declared a state of emergency.Justice Iftikhar reacted promptly, convening a seven-member bench which issued an already prepared interim order against this action.
Subsequently, 111th brigade of the Pakistan army entered the supreme court building and removed Chaudhry and several other judges from the Supreme court.

Sir i am the employee of Sindh High Court, Karachi. and very low paid salary belong to a lower staff. recently the salary of Lahore High Court have been increased two times Rs.10,000/- from grade 1 to 17 and this order has been passed by the Chief Justice Lahore High Court and the same has been implemented in all province High Courts except Sindh High Court. The Copy of the said Notification along with joint application from the Staff Sindh High Court have been put before the Chief Justice Sindh High Court but our Hon'ble Chief Justice is not interested to do so. Sir we the lower staff are facing great difficulties to run our daily house expenditure in this heavy cost prices of the daily uses commodities. we have no way to convince our Chief Justice for increasing our salary as running in all high Court Staff. We shall playful for ever if your honor directed or passing order in this regard. and our salary may kindly be equivalent with Lahore High Court Staff. As recently Sindh Police Salary have been equivalent with the Punjab Police Salary. After Justice Cornelius & Justice Kiani a rare example of courage . Alas! Justice Muneer would have restrained from inventing the doctrine of necessaity, this country would have been a better place.
