Nazeer Naji

Nazeer Naji, is a senior news columnist in Pakistan's Urdu press. He frequently writes in the country's largest Daily Jang published from Karachi. Naji has a reputation for his in-depth political analysis and strong criticism of the Pakistani Establishment.

Nazir Naji is also a former chairman of the Pakistan Academy of Letters. He is also famous for his anti mulaism and anti Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan. He is the only writer who speaks frequently about Pakistan Army historical blunders and Jamaat-e-Islami role in those blunders. He is also the first one who pointed towards Red Mosque (fitna) secession.

He is considered as a true journalist in Pakistan and one of few who are not on military establishment payroll. Many of Nazir Naji's predictions have turned out to be true including India and Us nuclear deal.

In my views, Mr. Nazir Naji is a corrupt person, always supports man in power and get rewards in money & kinds, but, still I reckon him as a good columnist in terms of his write-ups only on Pakistan's political & economical position within and outside South Asia.I also commend his far sightedness which regretfully he uses mainly for his own benefits. If he is an honest and statesman, I wonder what can he positively for society.

Mr. Nazeer Naji showed us the reasons why Pakistan is not getting strength and stability in the world like other countries that got independence around and before 1947. He is a real shame to be a Muslim (using such a foul language and arrogance) and a Pakistani. I wonder what sort of role model he is, for his kids and the young journalist in Pakistan !!

Why have Hamid Mir and his ilk of supposedly outspoken and investigative journalists never made an effort to call Nawaz Sharif – the prima donna of Pakistan’s current political scenario - to express his commitment to the present government policy in fighting the Taliban? Are they overawed by the PML (N)’s pro civility of using muscle and arm twisting? Hamid Mir had no hesitation in passing a snide comment such as ‘Musharaf had used a toop against Nawab Bugti’ but he would think twice about using such language against Nawaz Sharif’s handling of journalists? Such comments have an extremely negative connotation when uttered by an anchor of national prominence and should not be uttered carelessly.
