The top hundred comprises the most prominent figures from the Chief Executives to
the Inspector Generals of major cities. Their responsibilities define them and tell
us a lot about their personas. More then 180 million Pakistanis suffer today because
‘responsibility’ seems too big a word for our leaders. Immature thought and liberty
of action has converted many into puerile politicians and pampered princes. Our
leaders flop one after another because they fail to put themselves at the forefront
of any endeavor. They forsake the element of consistency and shirk from the opportunity
to act responsibly. These dogmatic incompetents have infested Pakistan for the last
30 years.
‘A man is only a leader when a follower stands beside him’ It is time we bring in
the good guys; hard working, disciplined, futuristic and irreproachable individuals,
who honestly believe in the development of Pakistan and are driven by their dedication
and willingness to serve.
If you have a right to choose, choose carefully. The top hundred positions deserve
to be occupied by individuals who operate on the principles of;
• responsibility
• honesty and integrity
• competence
• vision
• ability to lead by example
• hard work
• passion and generosity
• the spirit of sacrifice
• participatory approach to development
Pakistan must develop, for that, all and sundry must be prepared to roll up their
sleeves and pull our country out of the present doldrums. We possess the human and
natural resources; all that we need is the leadership and political will to turn
things around for the better, starting with;
• Mandatory Elections within political parties under the Election Commission of
Pakistan.
• Allocation of seats within parties in proportion to the economic diversification
of the people of Pakistan.
• Mandatory pre-registration of all voters with a party and their involvement in
selection of candidates.
The top 100 must realize that their actions affect the welfare and sustenance of
millions. At Pakistan Herald, what matters is the progress of humanity. We encourage
debate on major economic, political and social issues prevalent in Pakistan.
Voice your thoughts, fears and premonitions to the top 100. We will make sure that
you are heard!
